「矢切の渡し」はアララギ派の基礎を作った歌人、伊藤左千夫も純愛小説「野菊の墓」の舞台。小説では、明治30年代の矢切一帯の情景が描かれおり、その一節を刻んだ文学碑が、下矢切・西蓮寺本堂の裏手に立っています。
“Yagiri no Watashi” is the setting for the novel “The Tomb of Wild Chrysanthemums” by the poet Ito Sachio, who created the foundation of the Araragi school. The novel depicts scenes from the Yagiri area in the Meiji 30s, and a literary monument engraved with that passage stands behind the main hall of Sairenji Temple in Shimoyagiri.
