応神天皇・莵道稚郎子仁徳天皇を祀った三殿は平安後期の作で、神社建築としては日本最古。世界文化遺産。拝殿(国宝)は鎌倉初頭の寝殿造建築で、境内が莵道稚郞子の桐原日桁宮跡と伝えられる。春日神社の摂社や拝殿の脇に湧く宇治七名水の一つ「桐原水」もお見逃しなく。
