関東七名城の一つとされる忍城は、室町時代の文明年間に築城されました。
豊臣秀吉の関東平定に際して、石田三成らによる水攻めにも果敢に耐えたことから「浮き城」の別名が生まれたと伝えられています。
現在の忍城御三階櫓は、明治6年に取り壊されたものを再建したもので、内部は行田市郷土博物館の一部になっています。
Oshi Castle, which is regarded as one of the Seven Great Castles in the Kanto region, was built during the Muromachi period during the Civilization Years.
It is said that when Toyotomi Hideyoshi conquered Kanto, it boldly withstood water attacks by Mitsunari Ishida and others, so another name for “floating castle” was born.
The current Oshi Castle three-story turret is a reconstruction of the one that was demolished in Meiji 6, and the interior is part of the Gyoda City Folk Museum.
