本殿が国指定の重要文化財で日本遺産の構成文化財になっています。室町時代の明徳元年（1390年）の再建と伝えられ、流造の美しい屋根が特徴です。境内は縄文時代の遺跡で、荒城神社遺跡として県の史跡に指定されています。
The main shrine is a nationally designated important cultural property and is a constituent cultural property of Japan Heritage. It is said to have been reconstructed in the first year of Meitoku (1390) during the Muromachi period, and is characterized by a beautiful, flowing roof. The precincts are ruins from the Jomon period, and it has been designated as a historic site by the prefecture as the Kojo-jinja Shrine ruins.
