修験道の根本道場である金峯山寺本堂「蔵王堂」は、国宝かつ世界遺産の中核資産でもある修験道の中心寺院。日本最大秘仏のご本尊金剛蔵王大権現の尊像3体ほか、多くの尊像が内部に安置されています。単層裳階付き入母屋造り檜皮葺きで、高さ34ｍ、裳階の四方36ｍと、木造古建築としては東大寺大殿に次ぐ大きさを誇る豪壮な建築物です。
Kinpusanji Temple's main hall “Zaodo,” which is the main dojo of Shugendo, is the central temple of Shugendo, which is both a national treasure and a core asset of a world heritage site. In addition to the 3 statues of Kongo Zao Daigongen, the principal image of Japan's largest hidden Buddha, many statues are enshrined inside. It is a majestic building with a single-story Irimoya-style cypress bark roof, and boasts a height of 34 meters and 36 meters on all sides of the main floor, which is second only to the Todaiji Temple Hall as an old wooden building.
