5月14日と10月14日に、伊勢神宮では神御衣祭が行われます。
その神御衣祭に神前に供えられる絹布（和妙）を織る神社がこの神麻続機殿神社です。
麻布（荒妙）を織る上機殿に対して、神服織機殿神社は下機殿（しもはたでん）と呼ばれています。
毎年、5月頭と10月頭になると境内の八尋殿（やひろで）にて奉織されます。
「尋」とは、両手を広げた長さのことで、八尋殿はその8倍あるはずなのですが、末広がりの意味で名づけられたと言われています。
神社を訪れると、鎮守の森の中から「タントンタン、タントンタン」と機織りの音が心地よく響いています。

The shrine that weaves silk cloth (Japanese style) offered in front of the gods at the Kamimatsuri is this Jinma Kokkiden Shrine.
In contrast to Kamikiden, which weaves azabu (rough), Kamifuku Loom Shrine is called Shimohataden (Shimohataden).
Every year, at the beginning of May and the beginning of October, they are woven at the Yahiro Hall (Yahiro) in the precincts.
“Hiro” is the length with open arms, and the Yahiro Hall is supposed to be 8 times that, but it is said that it was named in the sense of spread out.
When I visit the shrine, the sound of “tanton tongue, tan ton tongue” of weaving echoes comfortably from inside the Chinju Forest.
