平成15年に閉校した校舎を再利用して平成27年にオープンしたこの道の駅は、琵琶湖の源流の一つ「愛知川」が流れる自然豊かな場所に建ちます。産直所やダムカレー等が楽しめる食事処に加え市役所の出張所や診療所があり、地元住民の生活拠点も兼ねている。敷地内に道の駅オリジナルのカップルとび太くんが記念撮影スポットとして人気で、ミニ水族館もあり休憩ポイントとしておすすめです。
This roadside station, which opened in 2015 by reusing a school building that closed in 2003, is built in a place rich in nature where the “Aichi River,” one of the headwaters of Lake Biwa, flows. In addition to a production center and a restaurant where you can enjoy dumb curry, etc., there are branch offices and clinics at the city hall, and it also serves as a living base for local residents. The roadside station's original couple, Tobita-kun, is popular as a commemorative photo spot on the site, and there is also a mini aquarium, so it's recommended as a resting spot.
