太平洋に突き出た周囲約２ｋｍの陸続きの島。島まるごとが国の天然記念物に指定されているだけでなく、島内の江須崎神社（春日神社）の神域として島全体が保護されています。
An island connected by land with a circumference of about 2 km that juts out into the Pacific Ocean. Not only is the entire island designated as a national natural monument, but the entire island is protected as a sacred area of Esuzaki-jinja Shrine (Kasuga Shrine) on the island.
