百舌鳥古墳群では4番目の大きさの前方後円墳。近世には、古墳の東にある百舌鳥八幡宮の奥の院とされ、崇敬を集めていました。
It is the fourth largest keyhole-shaped tomb in the Mozu Kofun Group. In the early modern period, it was regarded as the Okunoin of Mozu Hachimangu Shrine east of the burial mound, and was revered.
