宍道湖は、周囲約45km、全国で7番目の大きさを誇る湖です。湖畔から眺める夕日は絶景で、「日本夕日百景」に選定されています。海水の少しまじった汽水湖であることから、シジミや白魚などの「宍道湖七珍」に代表される魚介類が豊富です。さらに宍道湖周辺には、「玉造温泉」や「松江しんじ湖温泉」、「湯の川温泉」などたくさんの温泉地があり、心も身体もリフレッシュできます。
Lake Shinji has a circumference of about 45 km and is the 7th largest lake in Japan. The sunset seen from the lakeside is spectacular, and it has been selected as one of the “100 Views of the Japanese Sunset.” Since it is a brackish lake with a little bit of seawater, there are plenty of seafood such as freshwater clams and white fish, represented by the “Seven Truths of Lake Shinji.” Furthermore, there are many hot springs around Lake Shinji, such as “Tamatsukuri Hot Springs,” “Matsue Shinjiko Hot Springs,” and “Yunokawa Hot Springs,” where you can refresh your mind and body.
