藤原鎌足のひ孫にあたる藤原広嗣が、朝廷との戦いに敗れて唐津で亡くなり、里人がこの地に葬ったと伝わっています。大村神社は藤原広嗣公を祀る神社として、現在の地にありますが、古い記録には、吉備真備が創建した「弥勒知識寺」、「知識無怨寺」や「無怨寺」といった寺の名前が残っており、大村神社の境内には「無怨寺」の扁額があります。
It is said that Fujiwara Hirotsugu, the great-grandson of Fujiwara Kamatari, lost the battle with the Imperial Court and died in Karatsu, and his village was buried there. Omura Shrine is a shrine dedicated to Fujiwara Hirotsugu, and is in its current location, but in old records, the names of temples such as “Miroku Knowledge Temple,” “Knowledge Mujuji Temple,” and “Mujuji Temple,” which were founded by Kibi Makibi, remain, and there is a flat plaque for “Mujuji Temple” in the precincts of Omura Shrine.
