創建は元暦元年(947)、学問の神様として信仰を集める菅原道真公(天神さん)を祀っている神社。市川町の天然記念物に指定されている、幹周が6.30m、高さ35mの大クスノキが拝殿を覆っている様子は圧巻！
This shrine was built in the first year of the Genki calendar (947) and enshrines Sugawara Michizane (Tenjin), who is worshipped as the god of learning. The sight of a large camphor tree with a trunk circumference of 6.30 meters and a height of 35 meters covering the hall of worship, which is designated as a natural monument of Ichikawa Town, is impressive!
