養老元年(717年)に泰澄大師によって創建されたと伝わる、1300年の歴史をもつ白山信仰の拠点です。境内は緑の美しい苔で一面覆われ、幻想的な雰囲気が味わえます。周辺には平泉寺や白山の文化を伝える資料館や喫茶店などもあります。
It is said that it was founded by Taizumi Daishi in the first year of Yoro (717), and is a base of worship for Hakusan with a history of 1,300 years. The precincts are completely covered with beautiful green moss, and you can enjoy a fantastic atmosphere. There are also museums and coffee shops that convey the culture of Heisenji Temple and Hakusan in the surrounding area.
